THE FARM
The Farm
While I truly have such a love for floral design and 'playing with flowers' the grounding force for Lore Floral is mine, and Nathan's, absolute devotion to growing plants, tending the earth, and leaving things better than we found them. My passion for farming began in my parents backyard, but meeting Nathan, and learning so much about earth working, permaculture and good land stewardship, planted the seed that is Lore Floral.
We are a family owned and run flower farm, florist + art studio. Myself (Celeste), my partner (Nathan), my father-in-law (Ken), and our three kids (Ezra, Maeve, + Iris) make up our team. Our homestead is nestled amongst the seven hill of Cincinnati, in Price Hill. Our land is on ancestral Shawnee territory. Life abounds on our little swath of land; it is our goal to not only grow abundant and beautiful flowers but to support life and live as close to the land as we can in our little urban oasis. We do this through regenerative agriculture practices, composting, rainwater harvesting, reusing and repurposing anything we can, minimal tiling, animal husbandry and now we are fully SOLAR POWERED! We tend, grow, and care for our farm from seed to soil and nurture our plants until they meet your hands. We are part of Cincinnati's first eco village, Enright Ridge Urban Eco-Village, and supporting members of Hilltop Eco Community.
After Nathan + I started dating we quickly realized we wanted so deeply to offer the world more beauty. We wanted to offer meaning and heart and deep feelings to life's most special moments; births, weddings, celebrations, holidays, the changing of seasons, and the end of life. These are the most special and sacred parts of life, shouldn't they be all the richer; decorated in flowers and touches of nature? We believe so. And so, there is no moment too small or large-if you seek to add the beauty of florals, or other services - we are here to provide that to you.
Throughout the seasons our offerings shift; but every year in mid spring we host our 'May Flowers Plant Sale'- at this sale you can find our early spring blooms, young plants for your veggie gardens, cutting garden, or plants to support pollinators. We try to focus on plants that thrive in our climate and make gardening fun and easy! We also have bouquet clubs throughout the spring, summer, and early fall. Sign up for our mailing list to be notified of when our next subscription begins! We grow a large amount of flowers that are meant for drying, and our dried flower bouquets are very popular. As the growing season ends we move into crafting and evergreen season! Each fall and winter we offer dried flower wreaths, ever-green wreaths as well as Nathan's beloved handmade ceramic pieces; everything from mugs, to succulent planters, vases, bowls and plates.
We have a rotating stock of ceramic pieces, resin + dried flowers art, and stained glass art in our online SHOP , so be sure to stop by there! We are always welcoming custom requests- fill out our contact form and we will be in touch!
If you would like to see our small but mighty farm yourself please consider booking a night in our solar-powered 'Tiny Hut'. You can find the listing at this web address
